Lateral Entry Admission in Pharmacy
Lateral Entry in Pharmacy is an academic pathway governed by the Pharmacy Council of India (PCI) that allows candidates holding a Diploma in Pharmacy (D.Pharm) to gain direct admission into the second year (3rd semester) of the 4-year Bachelor of Pharmacy (B.Pharm) program.
Course Duration: 3 years (6 semesters), saving one full academic year since the first-year foundational coursework is exempted based on D.Pharm qualifications.
Eligibility Criteria: Candidates must have successfully completed a 2-year D.Pharm course from a PCI-approved institution with a minimum aggregate score (typically 50%–60%, depending on state and university norms).
